I'm an amateur designer, modeller and engineer with a passion for creating all manner of things, from novelty replica movie props to more complex engineering and electronics projects. I mostly work in CAD, designing and building in 3D, though I do also have some electronic, wood and metal working skills. I created this website to share my projects with other makers. My work and my designs are freely available for you to download so you can try them for yourself, I welcome any comments or suggestions and I will always try to assist anyone whenever possible.

A Harry Potter Themed Halloween for 2016

Halloween is just around the corner so it's that time of year when we get to have a little bit of fun, maybe even dress up a little and decorate the house. I've not really done much to celebrate Halloween before (us Brits don't quite take it as seriously as our friends over the pond) but this year I'm planning on pushing the boat out and giving it a real go.

Hoping to build on my recent success in the Wizarding contest on Instructables with my Self-Stirring Cauldron project (managed to take second prize), it looks very much like being a Harry Potter themed Halloween. I have a number of Harry Potter related builds in the pipeline, some small ones and some a little more ambitious, but hopefully I'll be able to get everything set for the big day. Some highlights and soon to be published projects include the Hogwarts Coat of Arms made from coloured felt, and an animatronic Fawkes the Phoenix.

Once Halloween is over and done with I'll be working on a 3d printed replica Pokéball with working light effects, then I'll be turning my attention back to the Cosmic Key project. It's been neglected recently as I've been caught up with other things, but I'm hoping to get it 100% finished by early 2017. I'll then be taking an extended break from making in the summer of 2017 to concentrate on some home renovation work, but I'll be back with some great new ideas that I'm really looking forward to getting on with.
